Today feels like a fart outside. But at least the Tyra Banks show is still on air.

One of the newest artist on Stones Throw is Mayer Hawthorne and the Country. Imagine Smokey Robinson, produced by J Dilla, from a guy who grew up outside Detroit, but now leaves in L.A. It has soul. It's not this white boy soul that a lot of groups are doing. I wasn't to into the new Jamie Lidell album (more white boy soul). It lost a lot of soul and experimentation the last record had. Either way, the new Mayer Hawthorne single is coming out soon. Here's both songs off the new single.

If you like it...buy that shit fool!

  1. Jim is Jamie gone soft. I miss the darker moments. I like that Mayer seems to come at it with a late 70s/early 80s slant. Me likee

  2. I don't see the 80's at all but it's cool. 60's and early seventies is more his bag. Pre-disco. Before soul and funk lost soul.
